In 1969, Trudy Durant combined her passion for the theatre and her experience with tax accounting to form her own firm. As one of the first woman-owned tax service firms specializing in this industry, her company quickly grew. Trudy established a staff of devoted tax and accounting professionals who recognize and serve the clients' needs, as she does. Today, Trudy C. Durant and Associates LLC has over 20 qualified professionals who provide the highest quality personal service to our clients, year after year. In addition to interviewing clients at our multiple locations, our staff also travels to various tour sites to accommodate our clients’ needs. We require continuing education of our staff in order to accommodate the complex changes in federal and state tax laws. This is especially important because the nature of our business involves filing tax returns in all 50 states as well as in multiple cities. We are available to our clients all year to answer tax questions and consult on the tax impact of business decisions. While our client base has increased substantially, the pride in individual service remains the same as always.

Trudy began her career in taxation over 35 years ago. Her connections to the entertainment industry and her personal interest in the theatre led her to this specialization. Recognizing the growing need for tax services for entertainment professionals, she started her own firm. Trudy has always and continues to exceed her clients' expectations. She draws on the knowledge and experience gained from working in larger accounting firms and her continuing education. Although the client base has increased substantially, her commitment to personalized service remains unchanged.

As the managing partner of a firm that has grown as fast as the entertainment industry itself, Trudy expanded the company’s services to include other facets of accounting in addition to tax preparation. While accepting clients outside of entertainment, her name is still synonymous with taxes and accounting for the individuals and corporations in the performing arts. Trudy is also active in fund-raising for theatre related causes as well as in women’s organizations and promoting women in business.

Linda joined the firm in 1987 after gaining experience as an agent with the Internal Revenue Service and is presently enrolled to practice before the IRS. Her expertise in entertainment accounting and taxes is well recognized in the industry. In addition to servicing her individual clients, she manages our corporate division.

Linda advises our clients on the formation of their businesses, provides advice throughout the company's fiscal year, periodically reviews financial statements in order to proactively assist management in monitoring their bottom line and ultimately prepares the business tax returns.

Claudia joined Trudy C. Durant and Associates LLC in 2005. During her tenure here, she has become an integral part of the staff. Prior to joining the firm, Claudia worked with a variety of small businesses, helping them maintain their financial records and preparing them for tax filings. She was also involved with her family's financial planning business.

Claudia received her solid tax foundation from a national tax firm and continues to gain knowledge through various continuing education workshops and seminars. She is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.

Anne joined Trudy C. Durant and Associates LLC in 2000. Before joining the firm, Anne was instrumental in the growth of her family-run business, which has provided her with unique insight into the challenges small business clients face. This background and personal experience gives Anne the expertise to guide small business and individual clients, as well as international clients. She is well-versed in all aspects of the tax preparation business.

By attending various business and tax workshops and seminars, she continues to expand her knowledge and keep up-to-date with the ever-changing tax code. Anne is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
